Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.
For the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
Murs' new album, the new release, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Life
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend football team," he added.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.
A family member advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
They have have lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.
However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
