Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the US has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.
It said debris landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
