Liverpool's Star Issues Regret to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones

Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward apologised to the team after the controversy from his televised remarks.

The Incident

He was omitted from a European match following criticising the club and claiming his relationship with manager had deteriorated.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”

The manager has previously declined to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.

Looking Ahead

Jones insisted that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.

He also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I get that there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

Positive Results

Liverpool's form have been impressive in the period after the situation. He feels the Salah's words were not intended to harm the team.

“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a desire to win,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and on a positive run.”
