The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited immense excitement within the community. From the one-by-one reveal of fresh additions ahead of the title's launch, to trainers forming firm opinions on the entire roster of new Megas, there's plenty for fans to anticipate.

Given numerous of the Super Forms boasting unique appearances that highlight their traits, one thought naturally: What's the best way to connect this with astrology? This list is based on a mix of vibes, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.

Aries – Mega Camerupt

To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was nearly selected for this fire sign, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the most fear. But, a Super Houndoom comes across as always angry, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being playful, cheerful, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram far more akin to Mega Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Remain on the friendly side of either and enjoy a strong partner; if you cross them, prepare to get burned.

Taurus – Mega Heracross

Similar to a devoted Bull, the steadfast Heracross, whether in its regular and Super Form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, both the creature and a Bull are also battle-oriented, and – whether it's their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position to the end. The thing about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unabashed love of snacks. Many previous Pokédex entries mention their craving for sweet sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it all, which is true Taurus energy.

The Twins – Mega Medicham

Look at this total queen. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the life of any gathering, providing an endless stream of gossip to those who wish to hear. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's incredibly easy to envision Super Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their tales. Medicham’s official description also states its ability to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which sounds very similar to a socially-savvy Twins.

The Crab – Mega Manectric

The Crab is widely regarded as the most emotional member of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign famous for often becoming absorbed in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “huge amount of energy, but it's excessive for Manectric to completely manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Cancer crash-out. It is also recognized for its ability to make a thundercloud over its very self – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is going to do, it’s spoil their good time.

The Lion – Mega Starmie

Oh, did you think I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the king of the stars? Besides the fact that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is obviously Mega Starmie, the diva whose legs just became an internet sensation for being too fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple starfish, and that’s precisely the same energy a Leo brings to the scene. Starmie is also said to be broadcasting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a performance, even if for extraterrestrials.

The Maiden – Mega Victreebel

The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly judgmental is strongly reflected across this Pokémon’s entire evolutionary chain, from a always shocked expression like a Virgo when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s just like the emoji a Maiden posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than creating a strategy.

Libra – Super Audino

Look at this sweet, empathetic creature, who employs the feelers on its auditory organs to detect how others are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always empathetic – occasionally to a fault – and striving to keep the peace, there are numerous Scales who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s skills. However, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them worry even more about others.

Scorpio – Mega Banette

Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad backstory: Abandoned as a toy, it gained consciousness through pure resentment and swore revenge on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha

Both Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly staging a performance. As a Sagittarius personally, the amount of times I’ve called myself some version of a “silly small entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “flexes to display its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.

The Goat – Mega Absol

Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to foresee calamities ahead of time? That exudes the identical vibe as a Goat, who tends to always believe they’re correct. The thing is, similar to a prophetic Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute first Mega Evolution that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to join the beginning of the Mega trend.

Aquarius – Super Chandelure

Detached element Aquarius is arguably the non-flame placement that is most like a flame symbol – its sister sign is Leo, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic partners in crime. Super Chandelure's double Spirit/Flame typing fits seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating aura is also very Aquarius.
