The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in the state of California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.

The influential industry figure passed away following his car crashed and caught fire on a highway in LA on this past Sunday, as reported by.

"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
